Great for Amateur Radio Use By
I purchased three of the DB-16X radios for my family (licensed Hams) several years ago and plan to purchase an additional one. Easily programmed for the 2-meter and 440 amateur radio bands as well as commercial and public safety frequencies if needed. Have no problem hitting the local repeaters or using them simplex. Receive great audio reports. Fairly priced and well built. Have several name brand portables and the DB-16X out performs both in my opinion.

Great radios for hunting parties By
I bought 4 of these last year so my family could all keep in touch while deer hunting.  Using the covert ear pieces makes them perfect for our needs.  These are much better than the radios from the outdoor stores we had tried to use in the past.  I just ordered another radio for a new member of our hunting group.

Great Business Radio By
Just got a pair of these for my sound and lighting company and it looks like I'll be ordering more soon.  Great little radio and seems very well built, its got a metal frame and sturdy plastic case.  We also ordered the standard speaker mic's as well as the privacy listen only earpieces which make it great for use in loud environments.  Right now we're just using them on the MURS frequencies but plan to get business frequencies to allow for higher power and less cluttered frequencies, although we haven't had any interference on MURS yet.  Also got a usb programing cable and programing it could not be easier, hit receive from radio, change whatever you want, and hit send to radio, its really that easy.

USFS Logistic Team is using them By
The central coast of California the USFS logistic Team are using these radios to initial response to the incident base. They are were impressed with clarity of sound and durability of these units. They use "AA" battery packs to keep them going during the early stages of the setup when power is not available.
