Excellent performance for the price.

I was looking for a well priced dual band transiever for my personal vehicle and powerwerx delivierd. The unit is small and easy to install (I have mine under the passenger seat of my 2010 Silverado crew cab). I would recomend that if you are thinking about purchasing this radio you should alo purchase the alternator noise filter, remote seperation kit and the LVD with the timer this will cost you about a $130 but is well worth it. The LVD with the timer has settings that can be programed to cut off power to the unit when it is below 11.0 or 11.4 volts dc. The repeater site located in our county was about 50 miles away and I was able to key up and transmit with no problem. I would deffinately recommend this transeiver to any of my friends and any department or agency that is looking for a good priced dual band transeiver. *** You will not need to order the optional power cable with stripped ends because the radio comes with one

Great performer

Very happy with radios. We bought two so far and have them running 24/7 as crossbanders in two of our ambulances. Gives our medics perfect in building handheld coverage. Nice to finally have a reasonably priced part 90 compliant crossband capable mobile radio.

After pestering the tech support people for several weeks (instead of properly reading the manual) I have finally set up my radio to my liking. The quality of the signal in and out is quite good. I have taken this unit on a few road trips and easily connected to distant repeaters and stations. I would have preferred a knob for squelch control, because setting via the push button is a pain while driving, however so far it really hasn't been an issue. I needed a portion of the commercial band for work where I was communicating with other operators using high dollar Motorola and Kenwood radios without anyone know that I was on a budget radio. I love the man-sized microphone, especially the A/B indicators letting me know which side of the radio is receiving the signal. I wish my Yaesu was similarly equipped. I wish the volume control offered just a little lower output before cutting out. For a $300 radio, it really performs very nicely so if you're looking for a dual band, dual display radio, you won't be disappointed with this radio.

Love it!!!
By from Kentucky

I picked up the whole package, DB 750X, SS-30DV, the base station enclosure & software. First off this radio works and sounds excellent! I couldn't be happier with my purchase. It's everything I expected it to be, and more. The reception is very clear, and the radio transmits with more than enough power, for me. I especially like the dual channel audio monitoring, I use a set of computer speakers, and the sound is great. Using the top 1/8th inch plug it allows for listening to channel 1 through the left speaker, and channel 2 through the right speaker. Both can be adjusted (volume wise), up or down. Even for first timers, this radio is easy to program with the software package. It's both flexible, and intuitive. The full function mic is very nice as well, it can control most of the radio functions, and is back-lit well. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this radio. It's everything it says it is in it's description, and everything I wanted in a radio.

Average to good radio.
By from Manitowoc wi

Received My db750x. Good looking radio. I liked the overall durability solid feeling. I also noticed right away that the vfo and volume knobs were a little on the fragile side. Programming software was very easy to install and use! After firing up the unit and using it for a couple of days, good transmit and receive. Speaker is chincy sounding external is recommended. The mic is large and the trans button precise with pressure to transmit. The A B button for your bands acts unresponsive at times. The cooling fan is a thermostatic controlled which I like because it's not on every time you transmit like most transceivers.Radio gets very warm with consistant transmit on high or low. Fan works well to disipate heat.I found that the rf sqeulch is useless and I just use the standard setting sqeulch. Overall I think this radio could be better so iam giving it 3 stars.

Still evaluating
By from Milwaukee

Got this radio a few days ago and have been happy with it for the most part. Mic is a little larger than the other radios I have, but is ok. I also like the fact that the mic has a nice bright lited keypad, and can bee dimmed. One item I wish was better is the volume control, when turning down the volume it reaches a certain level and cuts off. I like very quiet environments and my other radios can be turned down to a very low volume. I can deal with it but wish it was graduated more finely to complete quiet. The buttons are a bit small for squelch and set. One thing I wish the radio did is when turning on remember to resume scanning on the sub band. Maybe there is a way to do this and I haven't figured it out yet. Speaker sounds a little tinny but I opted to use the Y cable and seperate the audio on two external speakers, which I like. The display is nice with it's 32 levels of red, blue, and green. Adjusting them individually you can achive a nice range of display colors. I do wish the alpha display was a little bolder, but it's ok. Software seems to work good and makes things much easier. I am still learning much of the software options and radio features so I am sure I will have other likes and dislikes, but all in all a good performing radio at the price cost. Rock

Looks like a winner so far.
By from Peoria, az

Unpacked the rig and got it programmed using the software. Hears well, no issues on TX, the manual comes with a quickie sheet of commands and menu items that is quite helpful. Once you see how the commands work and what buttons you push to perform a function it goes pretty easy to work with even without the software. Only issue so far is that I had it bolted (with optional bracket for the switching supply and got reports of some Hummm on TX. Used a different source of power and it was gone. Have to check out the supply. Rig is Fine. If I were to pick a nit, I would say the PTT button is a bit much to hold on for very long as it uses a LARGE rubber plug over the switch and it is pretty stiff. Might soften with use. Nice to have the lighted mic when driving at nite. Also nice to be able to listen to 222Mhz as well. Haven't tried aircraft listening so far. 1 WORD OF CAUTION: BE CAUTIOUS WHEN YOU REMOVE THE FRONT PANEL AS THE CABLE BETWEEN IT AND THE MAIN UNIT IS QUITE SHORT AND LOOKS VERY EASY TO BREAK! DON'T LET THE FRONT PANEL HANG BY THIS CABLE OR YOU WILL BE LOOKING FOR A REPLACEMENT. Can't wait to get is hooked up to a real good external speaker and see how it sounds then. MLS-100 Yeasu is my choice and reminds me of the speakers used in police and fire vehicles.
