I have two solar (PV) panels mounted in a rack on my pickup. The charge controller is mounted inside the cab. The panel output is via PowerPoles and isn't connected all the time. I use a PPC-1 to protect the PowerPole connector from rain, dirt, bugs, etc. It's good knowing that when I need to use the panels, the connector will be clean and ready to go to work. I also use the PPC-1s to protect the PowerPoles on extension cables that I carry in the toolboxes on the truck. A very useful product. 73, ldb K5WLF
