A Super PWRgate is a 12 volt backup power system that can supply up to 40 amperes continuously from either a Power Supply or a Battery, and can also charge the battery with its high performance charger.
Connected equipment will instantly switch to battery during a power blackout or power supply failure. No glitches.
The circuit isolates the battery and power supply from each other. Voltage drop is less than 0.3 volts at 20 A.
To keep the battery fully charged and ready for use, the Super PWRgate has a built-in four-stage battery charger with selectable current rates of 1, 4, 7 or 10 amperes.
The circuit is optimized for use with GELLED & AGM type batteries, but will keep flooded lead acid and marine type batteries near full charge as well.

I do a lot of remote camping with the local radio club. We all of course do radios as part of the trip. I handle the HF email for the group with Winlink2000. My portable station uses an Icom 7200, SCS modem, and AH-4 coupler. I power all from a 100 amp sealed gel battery. I have used various battery chargers off my portable Honda 1000 to charge this battery once a day. Everyone of them generated some noise on HF. Plus most of them were not truly automatic. (Automatic for me is auto on/off, current on demand, float when full, in other words I don't have to touch). I use your charger in the charge only configuration, the radios run off the battery direct. The AC to DC power supply I use is a Powerwerx product also. Over a recent 4 day heavy use trip to Central Baja, it did as advertised and NO NOISE. Never got hot, and just gave me a piece of mind. The radio club intends to buy one in the future for the battery back up at the club station. Thanks for a working product. I'm using a SuperPWRGate to maintain 2 X 100Ah AGM batteries off a 40 A linear power supply to provide continuous power to my Yaesu FT-2800M, Icom R-75, TV and laptop. I've had several power failures here since I installed the system and the changeover to battery power is completely glitch-free. The batteries are maintained at full charge and I'm guaranteed sufficient operating time in a grid-down situation to be able to fulfill my emergency communactions duties via amateur radio when required. If you need uninterrupted power -- guaranteed -- get a 40S today. 73, Larry D. Barr KE5FWEhttp://www.rebelwolf.com/

The SuperPWRGate is the neatest device since canned beer. I'm currently using one to maintain a 100 Ah AGM battery to support my Yaesu FT-2800M, Icom R-75 and Dell 1150 laptop in case of a power failure. The unit is powered by a 45 A mains supply. The grid went down the other day and all the loads changed over without a glitch. I plan to add another battery soon to give me a longer runtime. If you require reliable backup power, and especially if you're a member of any emergancy nets, you need the SuperPWRGate to keep your rig running when the grid goes down. 73, ldbhttp://www.rebelwolf.com/
